Just a note for you.
If for some reason you take your almost 8-year-old brother to a fair/carnival/festival and let him play a game where you throw balls into bowls and win goldfish, it doesn't matter how bad his aim was on the clown shooting game. He will win a fish or 5. And your mother will want to kill you.
That is all.

Forgive Me, God
I'm a bad, bad, uncompassionate Sunday School teacher.
There is a small child that has been a student of mine for about 2 years. He got sucker punched today. I seriously had to resist standing and giving the child an ovation. My applause was suppressed only by the grace of God himself. But then again, that kid GROWLED at me today.
That's right.
Growled.
He had it coming.
I'm so bad.
Anywhooo....
My first day of school was awesome. My schedule got messed up and instead of a study hall first semester, I'm in debate. Guess who teaches debate? That's right folks. Cute History Teacher. Amazing.
I'm once again the favorite of the all powerful Hren, who is my Global Issues (AKA- Senior Soc. for the nerds), and AP Spanish gives me the heeby-jeebies, not going to lie. Also, KAP English is going to be a monster.
I have two quizzes tomorrow, in my two language classes. I also have a two-minute speech due for debate. They don't mess around senior year, do they?

First Day- Prologue
I'm actually here. My last first day of school.
Wow.
I don't have to go for a whole day, because I'm starting at the Career Center on Wednesday, and until then, I only have half days. I still haven't decided what shoes to wear (oh crap) and I only have 15 minutes until the bus gets here.
Goody.
I don't even have my schedule yet!
Oh-em-gee.....I get the huge lockers this year. It just dawned on me. The BIG lockers, people! In the LOBBY of the school
Sweetness!

Pray
Please pray for me.
Most of you know about the big decisions I'm making. They just keep getting harder. Whenever I think I've made up my mind, the situation changes and I no longer have any idea what to do.
I think I may take a break from the blog for a few days. I need to think, big time. And pray.
Pray for me. I need direction, and strength, and a ton of other things that I don't even have names for.

*frowny face*
I'm home now and exhausted.
I'm also very bummed.
I hate seeing my friends making bad decisions. And getting hurt. And I'm scared that it will happen to her all over again. Don't ask. Just pray. Hard.
I can't watch her get hurt like this again.
Big blog tomorrow.
Good night.

The Love Graveyard
Well, poo!
I'm never semi-unplugging again.
I picked a fine, fine week to not have a BlackBerry.
So, I get online tonight to find that not only have these to people that I'm good friends with at school, the "power couple" that have been together for like 2 years and were so incredibly sweet together broke up, but my cousin and friend did, too. And I can't even call her!!!!!
I say her because I have been encouraging such a break-up for 2 months. Because I can't stand him. Really. But she's never done anything about it.
Dear God, why must all the love die when I have limited technology?!?!?!

More from this FUN vacation
Really.
I AM having a good time. I promise.
So, we went to Mammoth cave yesterday afternoon. 2-hour tour that involved lights that don't always work. This is a huge FAIL when traveling with small children in tow. Squealing and screams abound. It was really cool to get to walk through and see everything. Everyone was just very sore afterwards.
Tonight, the internet has seemed to behave. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Maybe I'll upload some pictures on MySpace tonight.
Anyway, today we spent the entire day at Jellystone, going swimming and playing mini-golf. Much fun.
On the road again tomorrow, going to Cincinnati, where we'll be spending the night and going to King's Island on Sunday. Probably no blog until Monday.
P.S. I'm still not sure what's going on with the job front. Haven't heard anything yet. We'll find out tomorrow.

Live-Blog From Cave City
Hola!
I'm sorry that this is my third day here and this is the first blog that I've posted. However, to put it frankly, the "free wireless!!!" listed on Jellystone's website is for poo. I'm sorry. That's only way I can describe it. There is no other way. I either can't get a connection, or if I can, every fifth page is interrupted by Yogi the Bear telling me that my access to the wireless system was successful. That's great, you dumb bear, but a better way to know that would be for you to stop interrupting my viewing of my friend's wedding pictures that she sent me and let me experience the access to the wireless system. Moron. It would also be nice to have a connection long enough to upload pictures or videos and do Twitter.
On the other hand, I have a nice loft to sleep in, although I wake up every morning with Jennifer on my bed and myself crammed into the corner. But it's a nice place to hide, sorta, with my computer for a while. I say this as Nessie finds my brush, climbs up, and says "Becky, I fix you hair?". So much for hiding. She's good though, so it's okay. Tonya is now climbing up. And Jennifer. I'm being invaded as I blog. Niiiiiice.
Anyway.
Despite all the fighting and arguing and hitting and smacking and running away and drowning (yes, drowning. I'll get to it later) it's been a great trip. Yes. I mean it.
Argh.
So, let's review. We got here at about 6 PM on Tuesday. We unloaded and set up a campfire. We ended up eating ridiculous quantities of s'mores and hot dogs. It was at this point that I was realizing that the internet was terrible. I would love to post pictures with this blog but alas I can't. Goody.
Anyway, so then yesterday we went to Dinosaur World. It was pretty neat. They have about 100 statues of dinosaurs in this wooded area that makes it look like their natural habitat. Once again. Took some great pictures. Would love to show them to you. But I can't.
We came back, ate lunch, then headed out to Lost River Cave. Simply awesome. Well, the hike was. They took us to Blue Hole and told us the Civil War legends associated with it. Pretty interesting all in all. They took us inside of the cave, and it was pretty neat too, but a very short tour and not really what we expected.
Last night, we got back and ate dinner. Dawn ended up tricking me into eating Bleu Cheese. And I enjoyed it! I usually HATE Bleu Cheese. It was sooo good.
We went swimming after dinner. Dawn, Ren, and I all said we weren't getting in the pool. So, we're watching the kids swim and I decided to go inside for something for a minute. The gate outside the pool is really complicated and difficult to open. So, I get out there and I hear someone coughing and Dawn yelling "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!". Mo is going under and popping up, gasping for air, and then going under again. Obviously drowning. So, I try to undo the latch to the gate so I can go in after him, but can't get it. So Dawn (wearing a white skirt, by the way) jumps in after him. He was okay. Just telling everyone that he drowned. Anyway. Dawn decided because she was already wet, she might as well just stay in the pool and swim. And she told me, "Well, this would have been you 5 seconds later, so you might as well jump in." So I did. It was wonderful. I just probably shouldn't swim in an ankle length skirt. Not good consequences.
So, today we're heading off to Mammoth Cave itself. That should be fun?
Well, I have to go now because Tonya is telling on me because I made her sit down.
Maybe Dawn will ground me from going.
Hopefully?
I'm having fun, though. Really. I mean it.

Bon Voyage
I may or may not be blogging this week. It all depends.
I'm leaving for Kentucky in the morning with the whole crew. I don't think I'll quite be in Mrs.Lemon's neck of the woods though, unfortunately. Sorry!
On a negative note, despite the fact that I have told my boss that I was going out of town, she scheduled me for Saturday afternoon, anyway. I called and reminded her that I would be out of town. She said that there may not be anyone else. This is because our manager is absolutely incompetant and hasn't worked a Saturday in at least a month. It would be good for her. I think I've mentioned that. Anyway, my boss said she'd see what she could do. Either way, I won't be here. That may mean that I'm out of a job completely. I'm not completely worried about that though. Last week kind of took all of that fear out of me. It was disasterous. The bosses were out of town, so the manager was COMPLETELY in charge. That was not handled well. At all.
I have never ratted this girl out, yet. But after the multiple customer complaints, I may have to do something. At least 3 times this week, I had customers complain that the coffee was cold, right after I arrived for my shift. Rebrewing is supposed to happen an hour before I get there. My best customer complained and said that the coffee was cold and not fresh. I have given this woman the wrong KIND of coffee before and she didn't say anything. When she complains, you know there's a problem. I got there a few afternoons to find that there was no speciality coffee brewed at all. And even if I did just get on the shift, it still makes ME look bad. Which is ridiculous. I don't think the customers appreciate the excuses. Neither do I.
Anyway, enough ranting. I need to go help load up the van.

As my Republican followers applaud...
I'm becoming less than thrilled with Obama, to tell you the truth. After that whole campaigning in Europe deal, I was a little honked off.
Now, don't go and celebrate yet (that means you Ninja) because I am still a registered Dem and plan on keeping it that way.
I'm just sayin'.
Now I can appreciate humor like this-

Okay. Now I'm good with the dose of politics for a while.
I think.
Ah...the sweet smell of FAIL in the morning....
I posted this on MySpace from my Blackberry at about 7:30 AM. Meant to post here, too, but for some reason, nothing worked:
I'm currently working the AM shift here at Java Hut and am here until 11.I got here at 6:30, brewed the coffee and put money in the till. The cash register started beeping at me and then locked up. Oh goody. None of the keys worked and the drawer wouldn't open again.
Niiice.
So, I'm 5 minutes from opening and my cash register won't work and the manager isn't picking up her phone. Of course. So, I put up a sign, saying that our cash register is moronic and that we'll open soon.
I then call Sharp (the company that makes our register) and dial in for customer service. Well, that's just grand because of course their customer service is out on the weekends. "However, if you would like to receive a follow-up phone call on Monday, press 4." The annoying automated lady chirps at me.
Yeah, thanks,Lady. I think I'll pass on that, you incompetant piece of guano.
So, I'm extrordinarily ticked at this point, but luckily, no customers have come through to complain. Suddenly, I realize that I know where the instruction manual is. I hunt it down and look under "Fixing Errors". It says the exact same thing as the little reference sheet next to the register. Whole lot of good typing a code in does me since the flippin' keys won't even work. Thanks for nothing. I do find out that there is a way to manually open the register. So, I do this and leave it open and get out a calculator and notebook.
And here I am. I've been taking down orders and writing prices on a sheet of paper to enter into the register when/if Amanda calls and am calculating change with an extremely high-tech 1st grade calculator.
All I can say is FAIL.
Epic FAIL.
Amanda ended up calling at 10. Yes. 10! An HOUR before I left. It ended up just needing one button pushed. What a waste. Over all, I think I did well with the self computation. I was only twenty cents off. WIN!

I just woke up
I slept for 12 hours last night.
It was wonderful. I don't think I've done that all summer.
I got home from work last night around 8, and was absolutely exhausted. Because my parents had a bible study last night, and I wanted to know what happened, I decided to stay up. Ha! Funny. I watched a few episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway (always funny), and then got on my computer to IM or play a game or something. It was being dumb so I went to restart it. Bad move. I was out before the computer came up with the "Welcome" screen. I woke up briefly to find my brother and sister trying to wake me up and tell me that they had seen horsies and puppies, but was pretty much incoherent through it all. I also remember Mom saying something about a great view or something. And I remember, vaguely, my brother falling asleep on the other couch and my mom woke him up to go upstairs. Then I went to my own bed at about 3. And woke up at 10.
I so needed that, too.
I had a weird day yesterday. It took me three people at Kroger to find plastic sandwich bags. None of them knew where they were. It took 15 minutes. Poor Megan was stuck at work while I went and got them (we need them for deposits). It was horrible. I also spilled many things. I spilled a chocolate-hazelnut-caramel mixture, and then a big thing of Dutch Chocolate Fudge coffee, and Hazelnut. I didn't get out of there until 7:35 because of all of that. I usually get out at 7:10-7:15.
Today's my day off. I think I'm going to clean my room (it needs it) and pack some stuff up for next week.

This next week...
I don't think I mentioned on here that I quit my job. I gave them 2 weeks notice about a week and a half ago. I'm staying on for Saturdays until I get a new job. Yeah. I quit my job and have no job to follow it up. Great move, Muffin.
In my defense though, I'm not quitting because I hate it there. On the contrary. I love my job. I love my regulars and will miss them when I leave. I'm pretty much just quitting because of the conflict with my schedule once school starts. Since I start school part-time in 2 weeks, and full time in 3, and I don't want to be starting a new job and full-time senior year school at the same time. So, I quit now. But, all that being said, there are certain things that have motivated me to quit, in addition to that. Things that have me singing the praises of the last week at my job. Things named "manager at my job". I can't even go into this in enough depth. This is the girl who trained me and since I started there in May, she's been kinda horrible. Okay, a lot. She's a fairly nice person, but incredibly irresponsible. But oh well, I just have to make it through this week and a few weekends, and then I don't have to put up with her anymore. Aside from her, though, it's great. The girl who's taking over my shift is really awesome. She's the one who covered Wednesday's for me, my only day off because of church. So, even with the one problem, I still like my job and am a little bummed about leaving.
Oh, and on the new job front, the movie store down the street from me is having open interviews 12-3 on Saturday. I will definitely have to check that out. I'd also like to try the Mexican restaurants here in town. I'll keep you updated.
As for what's going on after my last day (Monday), I'm subjecting myself to horrid torture again. Dawn has recruited me for another vacation. Okay, so it's actually very, very fun. But never boring, and definitely interesting. Anything can happen with those kids. The last time I did this, we were in a large city and walked a ton. And we had issues with non-English-speaking Chinese restaurants. This time, caves, bunkhouses, and detached bathroom/showers are on the agenda. Dawn has informed me that the place we're all staying at is a 10-bunk bunkhouse, and she has been told that the bathroom and shower are "right across the road". I asked her how big/busy that road was. She doesn't know. I'm scared. This time there will be 5 children instead of 4, and 3 adults instead of 2. Maybe that will work better. Who knows? Anyway, we're going to Mammoth Cave, leaving on Tuesday.6 days of vacation. If you could call it that.

Anyway, we're going to Mammoth Cave, leaving on Tuesday.6 days of vacation. If you could call it that.

More stuff...
So, this post came up today. Might I just interject that I read this on the NY Post website this morning before it was made Yahoo news? Oh the soap opera. I will never cease to be amazed at the stuff Hollywood people get away with. Honestly. If Mary-Kate Olsen was just a regular joe that was refusing to give information on a high-profile death, then we all know that she would be locked up and have the snot questioned out of her by a Gibbs-esque interrogator. Hello, investigators!! Are you guys stupid?!?! She obviously did SOMETHING!!! She refused comment directly AFTER Heath Ledger mysteriously died, too. And now she's demanding immunity. You don't demand just immunity for kicks and grins.
So that's my soapbox for today. I don't do many celeb posts because I think that paparazzi is highly overrated, but I loved Heath Ledger and hate Mary-Kate Olsen, so this just worked out lovely.
I also blame it on the small quantities of Meningitis and Hepatitis B that were injected into my arm this morning. Don't you just love vaccinations?
I have to wonder, also, about the conversation that went on when coming up the brilliant idea of the vaccine.
"What's the matter, Bob?"
"Oh, nothing, Irwin. It's just that contagious diseases are spreading nationwide and I feel the need to stop it."
"Well, Bob, what resources do you have?"
"A syringe, a top secret lab, and some microbes from deadly diseases."
"Eureka!"
Yeah....I need to sleep more.

I need to blog..
I have something I've been meaning to blog about.
Over the past month, I have had something huge going on. I have to make one of the biggest decisions of my life within the next 6 months or so. I think I know what I'm going to do, but I would be a filthy liar if I said I wasn't scared or that I had absolute certainty on what to do.
I have the opportunity to go to Paraguay after graduation for up to around a year. They want me to teach in the school there, which just happens to start at Pre-K. The missionaries want me there. They say nobody does AIM work there. All of this started to come together less than 24 hours after I told God I needed an answer at camp on that Thursday night. I didn't exactly expect him to answer me. But he did. Loudly.
I've met the missionaries and traded emails. I'm getting ready to sen in my AIM application and get my passport. This time next year, I could be a real, live preschool or kindergarten teacher at Nuevas Alturas in Asuncion, Paraguay.
Here's the thing. It would mean putting off college for up to a year and a half. That is a tough thing to do. But if I don't go to Paraguay now, then I never will.
So I'm beginning to think its worth it.
